Informatics & Design

Double Diamond process overview

People often assume this degree is only about coding and visual polish. In reality, it combines systems thinking, human-centred design, and engineering discipline to solve real problems in a structured way.

Method

Double Diamond

Structured problem framing before moving into concept and solution development.

Process

Agile Teamwork

Sprint-based collaboration, feedback loops, and continuous iteration in project modules.

Technology

Engineering + UX

From software architecture and UML to interaction design and user-centred product decisions.

Outcome

Build + Reflect

Real prototypes, evaluated solutions, and documented learning across multiple disciplines.

How We Work

The curriculum is highly interactive and project-based. Each semester includes practical project modules where we work in small teams, run iterative sprints, and apply methods such as Scrum and Double Diamond.

This setup trains both delivery skills and role flexibility: from research and concept work to technical implementation and evaluation.

Software Engineering Perspective

Courses such as Software Engineering emphasize methodology before implementation: modeling object-oriented systems, understanding UML diagrams, and designing architecture decisions before writing code.

This mindset helps us move away from ad-hoc solutions and toward robust systems thinking.

Design and User-Centred Thinking

Informatics & Design is not just technology. Service Design and UX modules show how to deeply understand users, map problem spaces, and systematically design meaningful interactions.

By exploring needs before selecting solutions, we focus on root causes instead of surface symptoms.

Academic Foundations

The program is rounded off by mathematics, statistics, and academic writing, ensuring that practical work is supported by analytical rigor and reflective documentation.
